Terms and conditions
Student and parental behaviours
By bowing on entry to the training area you agree to follow all dojo rules and etiquette. Any implications from your failure to do so are at your own risk and we are not liable for this.
Failure to follow class rules or dojo etiquette may mean points are deducted from your grading score.
Parents/adults MUST ensure we have up to date contact details and any additional health issues, etc. are shared with us at all times. We cannot take responsibility for important information not getting through if we do not have your correct details.
Children must only be left on the premises with our instructors if a parent has spoken to the instructor in charge on the day. Having permission to drop off or collect one week does not guarantee the same suitability on another week. We cannot take responsibility for students dropped off to incorrect training venues or on the rare occasion that a class has been cancelled.
We ask parents and carers waiting to be respectful of the instructor and keep chat to a minimum particularly whilst instructions are being given to the class for safety reasons. Please take phone calls outside of the training area.
Please limit interaction with the instructors and members during training. This is also unfair and disruptive to the instructors, members and other spectators.
No one is permitted to enter the training area without being invited to do so by a member of staff so please ensure any additional children are appropriately supervised and do not walk onto the training area.
Photography/videography
You must obtain permission from a member of staff before taking photographs or videos inside Mantis. With permission, you may only show the intent to capture images of your own child. If any other children are in the background of images or videos then these must not be shown on social media. - Our members have the right to privacy if they so choose, and may even require this for legal reasons.
Any students who do not have photographic permission MUST wear their green wristband and this remains your responsibility. Failure to do so may mean your image is inadvertently shared and we will not be held responsible for this.
Payments
Package payments are collected monthly by Direct Debit. Please note that the payment amounts are carefully calculated to take into account any non-training or reduced timetable/grading weeks and are split equally across the year to make life easier for everyone. If you choose to pay as you train we still ask you to accept our direct debit invite so we can take payments for any classes you attend without you having to remember to bring cash on the day.
Should you wish to change your membership package at any time we would ask you to do so 10 days before the end of the month to allow us to sort the necessary administration. Please be aware that regular membership changes (more than three in a year) will incur an administration charge.
Gradings and family member discounts
Students will be automatically charged for gradings unless they choose to opt out. Deadlines will be provided via email prior to gradings. No refunds will be given for failure to meet the deadline.
A minimum of 80% attendance is required (including a Pad Drill practice week) in order for a student to grade.
£10 off gradings per family member applies to people living in the same household only (discretion for students from split family units may be applied).
Suspension/cancellation of training
Any members who cancel their direct debit without first notifying our administrator will be required to pay a £25 administration and rejoining fee in order to continue with their training. By cancelling payments, members are effectively cancelling their membership.
If you require a break from training through injury or illness please email us. Training fees may be paused at the discretion of your Sensei without an administration fee provided your direct debit stays in place. Mantis reserves the right to cancel memberships at any time. If you wish to cancel your membership, you should do so via email at least 10 working days before the next payment is due. Failure to do so will result in this payment being processed. Note that no refunds can be made for any missed classes prior to the date of cancellation/break from training. If you have any concerns about or would like to make any amendments to a membership, training or payments then please speak to us before making any alterations with your own bank, as this can cause issues with your membership.
SIGN 4 PAY NO MORE! Terms

Your free training year will end if any of your four recommendations stop/cancel their direct debit.
As a non-paying student, you will not be counted towards the family discount scheme.

50% of your deposit will be lost if you cancel less than 30 days before your party date.
Payments are non-refundable if cancelled within seven days of your party date.
If for any reason, Mantis is forced to cancel an event, we will offer an alternative date where possible, or a full refund if necessary.
Party terms
A minimum of two parent/carers over 18 must be present for each party of 12 children.
Party guests remain the responsibility of the lead parent/carer of the party booking at all times.
Guest and parent behaviours
By bowing on entry to the training area party guests agree to follow all dojo rules and etiquette. Any implications from their failure to do so are at their own risk and may mean they are asked to leave the dojo. We are not liable for any injuries caused and do not offer refunds for failure to follow instructions.
We ask parents and carers waiting to be respectful of the instructor and keep chat to a minimum particularly whilst instructions are being given to the children for safety reasons.
Please ensure any additional children/younger siblings are appropriately supervised and do not enter the training area.
Photography/videography
The lead parent/carer must obtain permission from a member of Mantis staff before taking photographs or videos inside the Dojo. In return, Mantis staff will request permission from the lead parent/carer before taking photographs of party guests enjoying Mantis activities, for promotional purposes.
Children whose parents/carers have not given permission for their photograph to be taken MUST wear a green wristband (available from reception) for the duration of the party. This remains the responsibility of the lead parent/carer. Failure to do so could mean that the child's image is inadvertently shared and we will not be held responsible for this.
Food and allergies
Whilst we do our very best to cater for parties we cannot guarantee the suitability of food for those with allergies or intolerances. Anyone consuming party food who has an allergy or intolerance must be supervised by the lead parent/carer (who may need to provide an alternative if necessary).
